Durga Lal Shrestha Font is a Nepali Devanagari handwriting typeface inspired by the distinctive handwriting of Janakavi Durga Lal Shrestha.

The font brings the character and natural rhythm of his handwriting into a digital typeface, making his personal writing style usable across contemporary Nepali typography. The typeface was developed from samples of Janakavi Durga Lal Shrestha's original handwriting and handwritten literary works. The source material includes handwritten poems and texts by the poet, which were studied as the visual foundation for the font. The goal was not simply to imitate handwriting, but to preserve its organic character, proportions, rhythm, and expressive quality in a functional digital typeface.

The project began with the first font meeting on 15 September 2024 in Budhanilkantha and was completed in approximately eight months. The completed font was presented to the Durga Lal Sahitya Pratishthan team on 6 May 2025 in the presence of Janakavi Durga Lal Shrestha himself.

Created from his own handwriting, the Durga Lal Shrestha Font preserves a distinctive part of his artistic and literary legacy in digital form.

The font was launched alongside six newly published works, commemorating his life, contributions, and enduring creative legacy.
